Petition for Safe Cosmetics We're asking Congress to take action for safe cosmetics and we need your support. You can use our petition form to gather signatures at events and in your community. Let people know that they can also join the Campaign's action list by adding their e-mail address to the petition. Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry This book by Stacy Malkan tells the inside story of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and our five-year effort to pressure the U.S. cosmetics industry to use safer ingredients. Following the release of the book, Stacy went on a national book tour, holding 50 events attended by over 3,000 people. Skin Deep Cosmetics Database OK, it's not printable. But it is incredibly useful. Created by Campaign co-founder the Environmental Working Group, Skin Deep is an online database that contains in-depth information on more than 25,000 personal care products and the ingredients that form them. Skin Deep scores products and ingredients according to health hazards like cancer, birth defects and reproductive harm on a scale of zero to 10 (zero being the safest and 10 being the worst for health). Users can search by product type (“hair care”), by brand (“Herbal Essences”) or by chemical (“sodium laureth sulfate”). Visit Skin Deep.
