Brazilian Blowout fallout: The company that makes those popular Brazilian Blowout hair-straightening treatments will have to change labels to warn hairstylists that two of its products emit formaldehyde gas, under a settlement with the California attorney general. The products, which remain available in California and elsewhere, also have prompted the Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration to issue warnings that formaldehyde is linked to cancer, eye and nose irritation and allergic reactions. |
